About OHAAT

One House At A Time (OHAAT) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, interfaith organization committed to providing household furnishings for those who are unable to afford them on their own.  OHAAT was started in 1998.

The typical family that we assist earns less than $7,500 annually and has several children.  The family may not have beds or other furniture in their house.  The family lives in Philadelphia, Montgomery or Bucks County Pennsylvania.

A typical delivery may include chairs, a sofa, end tables, lamps, beds, linens, dressers, a kitchen table with chairs, dishes and utensils.

Our "Beds for Kids" initiative started after we discovered that children were sleeping on the floor, on a sofa, or crammed two or three at a time into a bed meant for one person.  Donations are used to purchase mattresses and box springs that are delivered with the other furniture items.

OHAAT accepts referrals from over twenty (20) recognized social service agencies.  A current list can be found on the "Our Partners" page on this site.
