Mission

Our mission is to help families establish (or reestablish) a self-sufficient life by providing them with the necessities of a functional home environment.

Many of the problems associated with homelessness are not confined to those living on the street but permeate the homes of low income residents. In both cases people must persevere without life’s most basic necessities. OHAAT’s current focus is providing beds for children who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor, on sofas, or crowded into beds. Our Beds for Kids program helps children get the sleep they need to be healthier and better prepared to face every day’s challenges.

Vision

OHAAT envisions a world free of cultural and societal barriers where communities are united in and transformed by a commitment to compassion and generosity.

At the heart of this vision is the desire to create a vehicle for cooperative interaction between people of diverse backgrounds and means. In our society the “haves” and “have-nots” are often separated by a wall of fear, a self-perpetuating barrier that can lead to aversion or apathy. OHAAT strives to tear down this wall by revealing the humanity in every person, whether serving or being served.
