A Special Christmas Delivery

On Saturday, December 24th, OHAAT made a special Christmas delivery. A crew of 13 volunteers, including Board Member Lewis Williams (a.k.a. Santa), brought beds, bed kits, and Christmas gifts to 12 children in our Beds for Kids program. (A huge thank you to the Gloria Dei Church staff for providing the gifts!) All of the children were surprised and thrilled to find Santa at their door.

During the last delivery, the whole neighborhood got involved! Board Chairman Ken Barber shared the experience:

As we were delivering beds to the last family, one of the neighbors began yelling to Santa, and within minutes the entire neighborhood was outside. We had a bag of stuffed animals and a bag of pillow cases (made by the Gloria Dei Church Dorcas Circle) that we handed out to all the children on the block until we ran out. It was wonderful to see our volunteers talking to neighbors up and down the street as their kids lined up to see Santa. If we can have the same interactions every week throughout the year, OHAAT will truly be a success.

Peace LC Sends Volunteers and Bed Linens

On Sunday, November 13th, Peace-Tohickon Lutheran Church of Perkasie sent six volunteers and a car full of bed linens – pillows, mattress covers, sheets and blankets galore! The volunteers (pictured below) loaded OHAAT’s truck with 14 beds and enough furniture to fill the home of a new tenant. Thank you, Peace, for your continued support!

Quaker Chemical Donates Money and Muscle!

OHAAT would like to extend a special thank you to Quaker Chemical for their continued support! In September the Quaker Chemical Foundation donated $2,500 to OHAAT’s Beds for Kids program. This will provide beds for 20 children who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor!

Quaker Chemical’s employee volunteering program also provides OHAAT with much-needed muscle! Pictured below are Quaker Chemical employees Roy Nuss, Daryl Adams, John Ginther, and Wayne McVey.

Fox Chase Bank grants OHAAT $3,000!

On March 15, Kerry Lynch, Chief Payments Officer of Fox Chase Bank, presented Ken Barber and Becky Sedmak with a $3,000 check. This grant will allow OHAAT to purchase 25 beds for our Beds for Kids program. Thank you Fox Chase Bank!
