Summer Intern - Michael Brewer

This summer we have the pleasure to host an intern through the Summer Youth Corps (SYC) of the Foundations Community Partnership (FCP). In total, there are eleven interns in the 2023 SYC program serving area nonprofits.

Launched in 2008, the SYC matches students with select non-profit human service organizations for a 10-week, paid internship with the opportunity to earn college credits. Michael Brewer has been a fantastic support to OHAAT's Beds for Kids program!

Michael has completed his Associate's degree in Psychology from Bucks County Community College, and is currently continuing his studies in a Bachelor degree program. He has been assisting at OHAAT by leading volunteer efforts, performing office tasks, and managing various projects.

Get to know more about Michael below!

1. How will you use your OHAAT experience in your future roles?

The role of my internship will forever follow me throughout my life with the understanding that there are so many people struggling and in need of help. With that being said, even after my time at OHAAT, I wish to continue coming back for volunteer work to pack and deliver to all of those who are in need of help from the Beds For Kids program.

2. What were you looking for in an organization to intern at?

I was looking for an organization that is making a difference in others' lives for the better.

3. What has your favorite part about volunteering at OHAAT been?

My favorite part of volunteering at OHAAT is that I help those who are in need. I appreciate that I can pack and deliver beds and bags of things that will help them sleep peacefully at night and wake up refreshed, and hopefully feel better mentally and physically. On top of that, it also makes me feel so good about myself that I am able to help so many people in need!

Michael led his fellow Summer Youth Corp interns during a volunteer event at OHAAT.
