Help Us Raise $45,000 to Give 200 Children a Bed of Their Own This Summer
Summer is here—and for children across our region, it can mean long, restless nights. Thanks to supporters like you, we served 3,523 children in 2025—our highest number ever. But referrals keep coming in every day, and this summer we’re asking for your help to reach 200 more children who still don’t have a bed to call their own.
Our goal is to raise $45,000 to deliver complete bed packages—mattress, frame, sheets, pillow, blankets, books, and a stuffed animal—directly to children aged 2–20 living at or below the federal poverty level.

A Bed Changed Everything for Sofia
Sofia* is seven. After her family lost their housing, she and her two brothers shared a single air mattress that deflated a little more each night. Her mom worked double shifts but couldn’t afford beds. Sofia started waking in the night, exhausted—her teacher grew worried.
When OHAAT volunteers arrived with three beds, Sofia pressed her hand into her new mattress and looked up at her mom. “She said, ‘Mom, it’s so soft.’ And then she just cried,” her mother told us. “I did too.” Within a month, Sofia’s teacher said she was more focused, more engaged, and smiling again. A bed didn’t just give her rest. It gave her back her childhood.
Every Dollar Counts
Just $40 covers a bedtime bag: sheet set, blankets, pillow, books, stuffed animal, and toothbrush.
$270 provides all of that PLUS a brand-new bed frame and memory foam mattress for one child.
$568 delivers a bunk bed and bedtime bags for two children in need.

In our 28 years, we have delivered beds to more than 20,000 children across the greater Philadelphia region. So far in 2026, over 1,600 children have already received beds—and more families are waiting. Rising costs from tariffs and supply chain pressures mean every dollar must stretch further than ever, but our commitment hasn’t wavered: every child deserves a safe place to sleep.
