The Face Behind the TikTok Takeover
If you’re following OHAAT on TikTok, you already know there was an ‘intern takeover’ of the account this summer. Intern Peyton was the creative force behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Get to know her below, and then see what she created for TikTok here!
Peyton Sullivan is from Ambler, PA and went to high school at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School. At Gwynedd she ran cross country and track as well as performed in the fall musical. This fall she will start her freshman year at Lehigh University. Peyton plans to major in marketing and possibly minor in psychology. In her free time she loves to listen to music and spend time with her family and friends.
How did you learn about OHAAT?
I learned about OHAAT through my mom's friendship with Kate. My mom saw that she posted about an intern position and knowing Kate, she was eager for me to apply and get the chance to work with her and help her cause.
What were you looking for in an organization to intern at?
The biggest thing I was looking for in my internship was a place that gave back to my community. I loved attending summer service trips in previous years but I was not able to attend one this summer. Therefore, I wanted to make sure I was still doing service to help my community at whatever internship I worked at. OHAAT was the perfect fit.
What has your favorite part about interning at OHAAT been?
My favorite thing about working at OHAAT has been the people. As soon as I started working they welcomed me in and made me feel like a part of the family. They treat everyone that way too. Anyone who comes in to volunteer always wants to come again (and they do) because of how kind and encouraging the staff is.
How has working alongside other interns shaped your experience?
Working alongside other interns has helped me grow so much more. especially as I head into college. They are all older than me and have taught me many things about college, internships, and life in general by sharing their own experiences. In addition, working with these individuals has allowed me to think in different ways than I'm used to because each person has a different opinion and personality. We all see the world in a different way and it is refreshing to see things from other’s perspectives.
