Snowmen, Superheroes & Syrup

On Saturday, October 24, Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown filled up with an inflatable snowman, a web-slinging superhero, a fairy godmother (wand and all), mermaids, ice queens, a pint-sized fairy, and at least one very cozy puppy. Add a stack of pancakes, and you have the Royal Pancake Party.

Seventy guests joined us for a morning of pancakes, coffee, hot chocolate, face painting, and games, all to support the Beds for Kids program. Little ones (and big!) sat for sparkly face paint, families colored together at the tables, and our costumed volunteers made the rounds for photos on the Beds for Kids backdrop. Some guests came in full costume, others came just as they were, and everyone was welcome at the table.

What We Raised Together

$1,610 in total, enough to provide more than five children with a complete bed package of their own

Each Beds for Kids package costs $270 and gives a child a safe, comfortable place to sleep that's all their own. That means this one joyful morning will be felt in local homes for years to come.

As one caregiver shared with us, “It gives me peace of mind knowing they have a proper place to sleep.” That's what every pancake and every raffle ticket helped make possible.

A Royal Thank You

To Grace Presbyterian Church: Thank you for opening your doors and letting OHAAT host this event in such a warm, welcoming space. We're so grateful for your partnership.

To our Youth Ambassador Committee: You brought this party to life, from the costumes to character photos and the countless smiles in between. Your energy and creativity made the morning unforgettable.

To our volunteers: Thank you for flipping, pouring, cleaning up, and keeping everything running smoothly. Events like this simply don't happen without you.

To our raffle prize donors: A big thank you to Sesame Place, Color Me Mine, Topgolf, Tomato Shack, and Shake Shack for your generosity. Your support turned raffle tickets into real impact for local kids.

And to every guest who came out, bought a ticket, or tried their luck in the raffle: thank you. You showed that a morning of fun can make a lasting difference.
